Travel Europe - What Budget?

Travel Europe - What Budget?

Travel Europe - What Budget?

Want to go travel Europe....Not sure how much it will cost? It is important to determine you budget, as without knowing this, you wont be able to decide;

where to go what to do how to get there how long to go for

I suggest a minimum of 35 a day in high season, and 25 in low season; just for your accommodation and food. You will also need travel insurance and a credit card emergency funds on it. If you want to do the museums or tours etc, you will need another 10 for each museum.

I suggest getting a guidebook, as they have maps of the main places, itinerary suggestions, reviews of restaurants and accommodation providers etc. You can buy guidebooks for all of Europe, or just for one part, one country, or one city. If you will be travelling all of Europe, just get one general guidebook, or if you can stretch the budget, get an e-book reader and load it up with as many ebooks as possible! This is also great for those long bus or ferry journeys on your travels

Here are my top ideas for saving money;

Work and travel Europe! Manual labour in return for free food and board is a great way to save money (and keep fit!).

Sleep in hostels! Usually the cheapest option in big cities, youth hostels often have free internet and breakfast included.

What transport! You can bus around Europe, catch trains, fly, get on your bike, drive, take a ferry....check all options and find the best for you.

Research! Read up on where you want to go and get savvy before you arrive. Don't assume that every city has a plethora of cheap accommodation, or even that the train or bus station is in the centre of town; will you have to take another form of transport to arrive at your accommodation? Find out before you get there!
