Things To Do When You Visit The 2012 Olympics In London

If you are planning to attend the London 2012 Olympics you are in for a real treat

. Besides watching some incredible games throughout the Olympic event you are going to be treated to one of the most beautiful cities that Europe has to offer. So in order to help you enjoy your stay here are a few ideas for things to do while you are there

No trip to London should be without a visit to the London Eye. This giant ferris wheel has 32 compartments which carry a grand total of 10 000 visitors on a trip to the skies above every single day of th week. The design of the wheel is such that you will be able to see a full 360 degree panoramic view of the city allowing you to marvel at the City by the Thames.

Tickets can be booked online ahead of time and frankly we highly recommend it since the lines to purchase them can be quite long. Once you have your ticket though things move along a reasonable pace since the tickets are all times just make sure to arrive when your ticket says to be there. And of course for goodness sakes dont forget to take your camera.

Another thing to do while you are visiting for the London 2012 Olympics is to see the Tower of London. This amazing building is home to the world famous crown jewels the pride of Great Britain and a symbol of the royal familys prestige. You can also take a gander at the location where no less than three different British queens were executed.

The Tower Bridge exhibition which is just a few minutes away on foot is also worth paying a visit to. It took architect Horace Jones and engineer John Wolfe Barry 8 years to construct the bridge which opened on June 30 1894 and for nearly one hundred years was the only crossing east of the London Bridge.

And of course while you are seeing Olympic royalty at the London 2012 Olympics why dont you pop over and see the real royalty at Buckingham Palace The royal family's official residence is a truly magnificent affair and the guards really do stand in place and ignore people just like you may have seen in some old I Love Lucy episodes unless of course you try and threaten the queen in which case you will see them spring to action awfully fast.
