This means that millions of people will pay a higher price by waiting until the last minute to lock in their airfare rates, in addition to daily rental cars rates and nightly hotel room rates. The Airfares Are On The Rise Again

Our research shows that Hotwire also reported last month that average airfares over the Thanksgiving week (from November 20th to November 27th) are 6% higher this year over the same holiday period last year. That creates a huge double whammy price hit on the travelers wallet for those procrastinators that had not booked their air travel by early November for the Thanksgiving holiday this year.

What Are The Busiest Thanksgiving Travel Dates?

According to a report released by the Air Transport Association of America (ATA), Sunday, November 27th and Monday, November 28th will be the busiest air travel days during the Thanksgiving holiday, according to the ATA. The Air Transport Association of America reports that the second busiest day for air travel is projected to be Friday, November 18th. The lightest travel day will be on Thanksgiving day itself. That means this; if you can find a Thanksgiving day flight that leaves early in the morning and arrives before dinner, you could save money flying on Thanksgiving day and still enjoy some quality family time.
