A trip to Alicante

Alicante is one of the major attractions of Spain. It is a seaside holiday resort that awaits you on the sunny, warm Costa Blanca, the type of vibrant city where you can never get bored because there are so many things to do. For example, to go sightseeing, you will need a couple of days if you really want see every important monument and understand the past and the essence of the city. The City Hall

One of the biggest attractions of Alicante is its City Hall. The first thing that pops in front of your eyes is the beautiful faade of the building, which is decorated with spectacular elements such as spirals, columns and even a coat of arms. The building is striking in its symmetry, emphasized by the twin towers, one found on either side. It has several entrances, but the main one is found in the beautiful Plaza Ayuntamiento Square, a typical Spanish square which has picturesque restaurants where you can enjoy a nice meal and have a cool drink in the shade.

A second entrance, a smaller one, is found in the charming Santa Faz Square, which can be found in the Old Town or, to be more exact, in its pedestrian zone.

Once you approach the majestic City Hall, you will immediately notice the bust of the famous Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes. Inside the building in the entrance hall, another monument of great importance can be found. It is a plate which indicates the Zero Level, the point from which the measurements above sea level start in Spain. Also visit the Blue Hall, the lateral chapel and the Meeting Hall while visiting the City Hall. Have fun and enjoy yourself!
