Anyone looking to make a trip to London probably hopes to get in as much tourist activities as they can. London is a big city with rich history and a lot to see and do. One district of the city is Kensington. Here is just a small look at a few o the Kensington London attractions to keep you busy and ensure you have a good time.

The district is in the west and central part of the city. It is known for being an affluent area with a dense population. Its main road is Kensington High Street which is famous for its many and varied shops. So if you like to go shopping, that is definitely the place for you to start.

One of the tallest buildings in the area is Queen's Tower. This tower is actually the only remaining piece of the Imperial Institute which was designed by Thomas Colcutt and built in 1887. The tower was spared and ultimately strengthened. Now it is a free standing structure for all to admire. Ten bells reside in the tower, which were given as a gift to the Prince of Wales in 1892.

The Natural History Museum with its continuously changing exhibits is sure to please visitors of any age. Just about anything natural is contained here at the museum, from the tiniest creatures to the largest beasts, such as the blue whale. An amazing dinosaur display is one popular resident exhibit. Wide arrays of geological displays can also be viewed.

England is known for grand palaces and Kensington Palace is among the must-sees. It was once the home of Diana, the late princess of Wales. The palace is surrounded by gardens and the Queen Anne Orangery. Inside is kept the ceremonial dress collection.

The Leighton House Museum is a great snapshot of the architecture of the 19th century. Lord Leighton lived here while he worked on his paintings and this house gives a real sense of what life was like during that time. The walls are full of his work as well as work by other artists of the same period.

This is just a brief look at the Kensington London attractions. There are so many old buildings with so much history that it would take all day to go into it all. And of course this does not take into account all the scenery, fabulous restaurants and friendly people you will encounter when you go.
