One of the popular beaches is Porto da Barra, where you can enjoy a swim in the calm waters. The beach is popular with both tourists and the locals, who often go there on weekends. The beach is usually a hub of activities on Sundays, when it receives many visitors.
Another special feature found in Salvador is Elevador Lacerta. This is composed of four elevators that people use to go from the lower sections of the city to its higher parts, going to a height of 236 feet. You will not only enjoy the spectacular scenes of the city but also the experience of riding in the lift itself. An average of 50,000 people use the elevators on a daily basis.
