Today the tower is home of an exciting maritime museum. If you want to visit the museum for free, be sure to visit on Tuesday when there is not an entrance fee.
Seville does not only celebrate old architecture because it is also quite modern and walking along the El Alamillo Bridge will prove this to you. As the perfect representative of modern architecture, the bridge was built to allow vehicles to travel from La Cartuja towards the older part of Seville. However, an area for pedestrians is also present if you want to admire the views while walking.
If you have ever watched or listened to "Carmen", the famous opera signed by Bizet, you will recognize the Real Fabrica de Tabacos. The building is real and is was used as a tobacco factory. Its age is about half a millennium, and in previous time periods the building was surrounded by a moat and housed a jail. Today, the building belongs to a university and it can be visited at all times completely free of charge.
