- It's important to get enough sleep each day. Take a nap in the day or go to bed a little earlier. Even if it's only a little bit more rest than what you were normally able to get, it will help combat fatigue which can make your nausea worse.

- Take your time getting up in the morning out of bed. Do not make any sudden movements. Eat saltines or soda crackers while in bed before getting up, this will help to settle your stomach.

- Eat less food but more often. It's important to not over eat. If you are too full or your stomach is too empty, your nausea will be aggravated. It's been recommended to eat 6 small meals throughout the day. So eat small meals more frequently to ease morning sickness. Also it's easier to eat food that is plain, dry, and starchy. It's also important to carry snacks like crackers in case you start getting hungry. - Keep drinking fluids. Fluids can give the effect of fullness in your stomach, but it is important to have fluids in your system at this time. Avoid drinking fluids with your meals, because it will make you feel fuller. But drink water, juice diluted with water, herbal teas, or whatever sounds good to you between your meals.

- Keep taking your prenatal vitamins. It's important for you and your growing baby. Also, prenatal vitamins replenish nutrients you may be losing by vomiting. Sometimes prenatal vitamins can trigger nausea, so try taking them while eating a cracker. If that doesn't work, then talk to your doctor about changing to a different prenatal vitamin. That may be all it takes for those who want to know how to get rid of morning sickness.

- Your senses will be in overdrive so avoid things that set them off. Stay away from strong smells, spicy food, and excessive movement. Any of these can bring on nausea. If you're going to cook, cook with the windows open or fan on to get rid of the odors. Better yet, put your significant other to work in the kitchen so you can get rid of morning sickness. You're going to want to avoid the smell of food frying, grease, and fried food.

- Use antacids as a last resort and consult your doctor before taking them. It may be a natural reaction to grab an antacid when your stomach is upset, but don't, talk to your doctor for a possible over the counter choice or something they can recommend. Some antacids have been found to cause a build up of fluids in one's system.
