CAPE TOWN & THE WINELAND REGION

Pearl Valley

Has been host to the S.A. Open in 2008 and 2009. Situated between Franschhoek and Paarl in the heart of the winelands. This Jack Nicklaus designed course is a thinkers course - you don't always have to use your driver on the tee - accuracy and placement are the key factors here.Playing Golf / Golf Tours in South Africa


Westlake Golf Course

This is a lovely tree lined course close to Muizenberg next to False Bay. With the Steenberg mountains as a back drop, the views should inspire you to a great round of golf.

Erinvale Golf Course

Lying at the foot of the Helderberg mountain near Somerset West, this estate course has held the S.A. Open in 2003 and 2004. Two contrasting nines produce a well balanced test of your golfing skills.

Stellenbosch Golf Club

One of the oldest clubs in the South Africa, this course is in the heart of the winelands recently hosted the world amateur championships as well as the S.A. Open in 1999. A fairly long parkland course, it must have one of the most envied clubhouse balcony views ever!

Arabella Golf Estate

Situated next to the Bot River estuary near Hermanus, this Top ten course has played host to the Nelson Mandela Invitational for many years. Semi links in style, a great challenge is the wind blows a little.

Royal Cape Golf Club

Lying just outside the center of Cape Town, this is the oldest club in South Africa nad has hosted numerous prestigious events. A lovely parkland course.

De Zalze Golf Club

On the Helderberg wine route not far from Stellenbosch, this estate course has some wonderful holes - especially the Par 3's and an excellent club house.

Pinnacle Point

Set on the edge of a magnificent coast, at the start of the Garden Route, Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort is situated at the gateway to the Garden Route, taking pride of place

Oubaai Golf Resort

Situated just a few kilometers from George, this Ernie Els signature course is absolutely stunning with the Indian Ocean as its back drop.

The Links, Outeniqua & Montaqu courses - Fancourt

The Fancourt estate has three of the most testing courses you could imagine. Staying on the estate is essential to play any of these courses, but its well worth it.

George Golf Course

No trip to the Garden Route would be complete without a round at George. Its location, friendliness of the members make it a memorable place to visit.

Pezula Golf Estate

Formerly known as Sparrebosch, this course has a reputation for its stunning signature hole - a Par 5 running down to the cliffs edge - guaranteed a photo shot of a lifetime - never mind the golf! Situated in Knysna high on the hills next to the ocean.

Simola Golf Estate

Keeping your head down at Simola can be a challenge; simply because the views around the course are awe-enspiring, and with this, it is clear to see why Simola takes its place as one of South Africa's premier golfing destinations at Knysna. A Jack Nicklaus designed course.

DURBAN & KWAZULU NATAL

Durban Country Club

The golf course, voted one of the best in South Africa (rated 6th by Golf Digest 2008), overlooking the Blue Lagoon estuary and the Indian Ocean has hosted 16 SA Opens in total, more than any other club in South Africa and has over the years, played host to celebrities, royalty and golfing greats.

Southbroom Golf Club

It boasts one of the most popular golf courses on the lower South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. As an integral part of the Southbroom village, the course is a rare South African layout and if it wasn't for all the palm trees and tropical foliage, you'd think you were in Britain or Ireland. Only a stone's throw from the Indian Ocean

San Lameer Golf Estate

San Lameer is a conservation haven with 195 different bird species, abundant wildlife - including impala, red, gray and blue duiker, reedbuck and bushbuck - and indigenous fauna and flora. Zimbali Golf Course

Well known for its stunning 18-hole golf course. It offers a challenging round of golf of world class standards and stunning views. Starting off with a coastal links feel, the course takes a dramatic turn through rough rolling wetlands and ends up in the Zimbali Coastal forest. The course is also a tough walk but fortunately golf carts are compulsory!

SUN CITY & GAUTENG

Gary Player Golf Course

The main course at Sun City, it is consistently ranked in the Top 2 for South Africa. A 'must play' course if visiting Sun City. Home to the annual Nedbank Million Dollar Challenge.

The Lost City Golf Club

The second course at Sun City and one that will certainly test you skill and nerve - especially the 13th, a Par 3 with a Crocodile Pit on the left of the green - please don't try to retrieve your ball if you should stray!

Glendower Golf Club

This extremely well designed course, which opened in 1937, is situated against a tree-covered slope. The superb kikuyu covered fairways feature numerous hazards and lead to excellent greens. There are 85 bunkers and water comes into play on 11 of the holes

Beautiful to look at, and very challenging to play, it has been said that Glendower - as a test of golf - is without equal in South Africa.

Royal Johannesburg East/West Courses

The Royal Johannesburg Golf Course is one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the country and boasts two exceptional 18-hole courses. Both the courses have scenic tree-lined fairways with gently rolling slopes. The East Royal Johannesburg Golf Course is the better known golf course and has hosted many tournaments including the South African Open Championship which has been held at this course seven times. Since the course has been revamped to accommodate the growth of the game of golf the Royal Johannesburg Golf Course has still kept the original 'parklands' feel.

Randpark/Windsor Park Golf Clubs

Host to the 1995 & 2000 SA Opens, the Randpark course is amongst the top championship courses in the country. At 7050m from the "tips", this course is the second longest course in SA. But, perhaps Randpark's best kept secret is Windsor Park - 18 holes designed by the infamous Bob Grimsdell and completed in 1954, Windsor Park is a gem of not one or two, but 18 feature holes characterized by magnificent trees, strategic water features and old-style, traditional, small greens.

Wanderers Golf Club

Wanderers Golf Club not only has a wonderfully warm club spirit, but a challenging golf course that is rated one of the best in Gauteng. With its magnificent variety of mature trees lining attractively-shaped fairways, and undulating terrain, it's a delightful place to play golf.

MPUMALANGA & KRUGER AREA

Leopard Creek Country Club

Currently the No. 1 course in South Africa it is situated on the southern most border of the Kruger Park near Malelane. Hans Merensky Golf Course

Nelspruit Golf Club

Nelspruit Golf Club is one of Mpumalanga's top courses and is a must play when visiting this area. The town is close to the Kruger National Park (60km) and is part of the Tropical Lowveld with its beautiful scenic routes. Nelspruit is famous for hosting the annual Jock of the Bushveld event, considered the biggest amateur tournament of its kind in the world. Started in 1968, it has grown to the extent where some 800 competitors play more than 2,000 rounds during a week in May.
