The organization's foundation pays if funds are not available. Apparently, they not only handle the cost for dental treatment, but even transportation, lodging, and hospitalization. The cost for every patient is between $350 to $550, exclusive of air travel.
The patient, while under anesthesia, undergoes the dental treatment. Dental and medical evaluation requires the patient to be at the hospital a day before. Prior to the patient's arrival, the center already has the needed background information about the patient, his handicap condition, and his dental needs.
A room next to the patient's is provided for a family member when the patient is at the hospital. Patients stay in the hospital for less than a week. There is also a provision for out patient care when applicable. When needed, they will provide for follow up care.
General anesthesia is given to patients who are physically and mentally handicapped. Dental treatment is greatly improved through the latest in dental equipment. The new dental chairs are designed to provide more security and comfort for both dentist and patient.

It is important to know the kind of background the person has and how he has come to see the perceptions of others toward him.
