My favorite 8 Shops, Stores & Boutiques in Paris
Le Bon Marche :
Hands down, Le Bon Marche is the best department stores in paris, and the oldest. Here you can shop for Paul & Joe, Isabel Marant, Maje, APC and many more all under one roof. Of course they have an entire floor dedicated to makeup and accessories, enough to explode your goodie bag. After filling your bags at LBM head over to the rue de Grenelle, which has more shoe stores than any street I know of in the world.
Merci :
Probably one of the most talked about stores in Paris, Merci is a concept store offering everything from fashion to books and antiques (think Colette). Plus the caf here is "the" place for a ladies lunch.
Zadig & Voltaire :
Locations all over Parisaffordable and hip casual wear. Absolutely au courant, young, cool and delightfully laid out. You can't go wrong at ZV.
Agnes B :
Time Out calls Agnes B one of the top 10 stores in the capital. Women, or men can do well here and prices are reasonable. Wearable, everyday clothing that is both smart and sexy.
Autour du Monde (Bensimon):
This is a shop I hit every time I'm in Paris. They're famous for their lightweight tennis shoes, but they also offer lovely prints, perfect bags, hip home products and more. Great gifts can be found for friends at their home shop in the Marais.
Isabel Marant :
Isabel Marant isn't just a chic label, she's a chic woman. Shopping here makes me feel "in the know". Feminine and flirty, with a slightly hippy vibe. Marant epitomizes style.
L'Eclaireur:
Run don't walk to their exciting new location in the Marais on rue Svign. This is definitely my favorite clothing store in Paris, even if I don't always buy here. Be ready to spend serious money for the coolest designs on the planet, artfully curated. It's very eclectic and not for the shy or the understatedbut worth a visit to experience fashion as art.
Paul & Joe:
Different locations and stores around Paris for women, men and les enfants. Trs kool. The menswear is spot on. I always pick up something here for my hubby. As for their women's clothing, I love their patterns and their mix of chic yet funky style.
For one of a kind ateliers and shops found only in Paris:
Go to the upper Marais, in particular rue Poitou & rue Charlot. The boutique Koko at #75 rue Charlot is a particular favorite. And if you go, eat at the Marche Enfants Rouges after (the covered market that has many different food purveyors) at 39, rue Bretagne in the 3rd. I love the Japanese and the Moroccan places here.
