Be careful of Taxis at JFK

Taxis are available at every terminal and there is a taxi stand where you will be directed to a taxi. I just want to warn people of the taxi's at JFK, expect to pay around $45 plus toll and tip from JFK to Manhattan. A car service company if book in advance will do the service for about $55 plus toll and tip. But ware of men that wait in the arrivals terminals and approach you asking if you need a taxi, you would think that you are going be getting in a yellow cab but it is a free lance limo company and it can cost you $65 plus tip you will ended up paying around $90. So just be careful or you'll end up paying twice what you need to pay for no more comfort or haste.

Instead arrange for a professional courteous driver to pick you up and take you to your home, hotel, or place of business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These JFK Taxi service companies understand that customer satisfaction is the key to success, and that is why they promise to make your ground transportation experience a hassle free, safe and affordable one.

Kennedy Airport, and the meter will be turned on for the remainder of the trip. The metered fare should be collected at the last stop, from the last passenger. Taxis are cash only.

Make sure to hail a cab in the designated areas or ask a uniformed airport employee to help you. Generally, it's polite to tip at least a dollar per bag if the taxi driver assists you.

For destinations outside of Manhattan, consult the TLC Fare Guide. You may also want to familiarize yourself with the Taxi Rider's Bill of Rights.
