Hair Loss In Women - Four Common Reasons

The hair is one of those things that provides the face an attractive shape

, thus many see it as a way to enhance the way a person looks. Ordinary hair issues like frizz, dandruff, and split ends can quickly damage a woman's day; imagine how bad suffering from hair loss can ruin it. Opportunely, there are a couple of hair care items going from topical liquids to medications that are injectable, over-the-counter and prescribed, available in stores today. How well these products work is dependent upon certain factors like the body's reaction, how often they are used, dosage and application, and more. Below you will find some of the common reasons for women hair loss.

1. Hormonal imbalance. The body produces male and female hormones (androgen and estrogen) at a certain level. A significant change in that level can disrupt in the systems' functions, and in turn, becomes one of the top causes of hair loss in women. This typically happens during pregnancy and after giving birth. The occurrence usually returns to normal in a matter of months, thus no medication is required.

2. Cosmetics and hair styling agents. Some hair styling products contain chemicals that can harm the hair follicles. Profuse perming, coloring, and bleaching can eventually result in hair fall. It is strongly advised to opt for products with natural ingredients or apply protectants onto the scalp to shield it from possible damage.

3. Heredity. It is not out of the ordinary among women to feel the effects of hair loss in their 60's. But some with a family course of baldness may begin losing hair in as early as their lower twenties and even teen years. Breakthroughs in hair technology paved the way for specialized hair treatments, although results may vary contingent on certain physiological aspects.

4. Poor diet and vitamin deficiency. Some women have the tendency to go on a strict diet in pursuit of a slimmer figure. Under the circumstance, nutrients that are necessary for healthy hair growth are not absorbed by the body. A daily supplement of Vitamin E, fatty acids, and fish oils may be recommended.

There are more causes of hair loss in women, and consultation with a dermatologist can be a great help. Even though hair loss treatments may be commercially at hand, this does not mean that they should be used without consultation from an expert. It is perfectly okay to spend a little time or even money on information that is worth knowing. Stay away from making impulsive decisions when looking for a treatment. The best action to take is to learn about the causes first and then look for remedies. As the antique saying goes, 'better be safe than sorry'.
