The mood to give tourism in Goa a good momentum seems to have found new favor with the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) decision to release a series of proposals in that direction. Among the proposals are plans to develop tourist GTDC properties in the way public-private partnership and also to buy a luxury cruise ship to promote a new side of tourism - "cruise tourism" in Goa. Also on the cards is the introduction of a bus service with air conditioning-hop-on hop-off in a hot spring tourism sector in northern Goa.
GTDC currently has more than 35 real estates throughout the state, in both coastal and inland areas that have great potential for development and income generation through proper use. The total investment in PPP projects is roughly estimated that the region from 450 to 500 million rupees.
