Getting It Together On A Fast Weight Loss Plan
Getting It Together On A Fast Weight Loss Plan
Trying to make it through a fast weight loss plan and escape unscathed at the end? Maybe the plan you've chosen involves 6+ hours at the gym each day with a personal trainer in tow. Or maybe the weight loss plan you've chosen is the popular homeopathic HCG weight loss plan. There are a variety of options when it comes to fast weight loss out there. The dieting options are variable. We've talked about identifying effective methods and choosing the one that will work for you individually in previous articles.
But we're not going to talk about that today. Today we're going to talk about something else; another important element of a fast weight loss plan. There's a problem that can foil the best attempts to diet successfully. This recurring issue is negativity.
We are our worst critics. This is "one of those old sayings" because it's true. Some will try to skew this as a benefit that will aid them in their dieting. They think that it shows they are trying hard to keep themselves on track and be a better person than they are. But there aren't many who will argue when it comes right down to it...optimism vs. pessimism. Optimism wins almost every time.
Trying to wade through a really tough diet and just "make it through" usually results in mistakes. A mistake here or a mistake there or maybe a mistake here AND there. Sometimes they are small and sometimes they are HUGE. It could be a diet soda snuck in after dinner. Or it could be a trip to the Cheesecake Factory when no one is looking with a full fledged banquet spread with no leftovers.
When mistakes happen (as they are bound to) you might spend the next week or more just beating yourself up about it. You might sit down and try to decide just how bad you were by deciphering how many calories you probably ate when you made that "mistake" and then you might even try to figure out how many days you'd need to go without any food whatsoever in order to balance out this one binge or mistake that you made.
And all of those possibilities are absolutely negative. They just amplify what was one simple mistake that can't be reversed. The best way to handle a mistake is to recognize it as such and decide if there was anything that caused it or encouraged you to make that bad decision. Decide not to do it again and then move forward; move on!
Moving on...isn't it just such an amazing and fabulous concept? Just in case you're not quite clear what I mean when I say "moving on"...it means that once a mistake has been made you don't beat yourself up about it. You know it happened; you're aware. You're not going to do it again and you have vocalized this or written it down. But that's it. It should not become the new focal point for your thoughts. Making this a focus for your thoughts means that you are indulging in some major negative thinking. Rather than taking that step...replace the negative with a positive and get back on track to drastic weight loss.
It depends what weight loss plan you are on, but try to envision (or create) perfection. Have a perfect day. Remember a perfect day in the past. Or if you haven't had one yet...decide what the perfect day would be and made that your focal point. Say you were on the homeopathic HCG diet. You could make a perfect morning for yourself. You get up and weigh yourself. You take your HCG drops. You drink a huge glass of water and set about making a pot of herbal tea. And you don't eat anything until lunch.
If you were on the homeopathic HCG diet you just had a perfect morning. And that's something worth focusing on. Congratulations! You deserve it. You've had a perfect morning! You still made a mistake. The perfect morning didn't make that go away. But now you are back on track and ready to lose some more drastic weight. Positivity all the way! That's your goal. You'll find that you are more successful when you have "yourself" on your side cheering you on. Kindness goes a long way...even when you're just being kind to yourself.
