Sometimes, I would eat a whole meal at night. This was giving me nightmares, indigestion and weight gain. You might have different patterns but should you try to change your pattern completely or fit healthy alternatives into the pattern you already have? I decided the latter and you can too.
The secret really is to eat more, not less. That sounds unworkable but let me tell you, it really works. Also, if you're going to make a change, make it healthy. I didn't think that would work either, but it does. What kind of healthy meals are we talking about? Fruit, lean meats, vegetables, fruits. And, please, don't start eating things you don't like. How long do you think that's going to last?
That's why so many other diets I've tried haven't worked. Oh sure they worked for a short period of time. But the older I get the more I realized that long term health and weight maintenance is really the way to go. All those yo-yo diets have damaged my ability to lose weight. My metabolism has been affected by starving myself. My metabolic rate was slowed down during those times as a mechanism to preserve any fat because my body felt I was dying. Now, the tendency to gain weight has increased due to the lowered metabolism. This could have happened to you as well. If you feel that you can't lose weight as you used to, you might want to re-think your current situation. Re-gain your health and repair your body.
