Describing The Different Spa Treatments

You go to a spa to avail one of their treatments or services but only to find yourself caught in between one choice over another and over another

. You seem incapable of making up your mind and you resort to what the lady tells you but is not exactly what you needed. This can be frustrating instead of uplifting and what will happen to your objectives to relax and rejuvenate? To serve as a brief tutorial regarding what to expect when getting a service done from the spa, here are a few important details about their common services.

MASSAGE

This is the most common spa service in any spa salon. The massage could come in different types and sometimes, if you want, will have to make use of aromatic oils. The most popular type of massage is called the Swedish Massage and most spa experts would recommend this style to beginners. This hour-long treatment is very relaxing since it involves the stroking of the skin from a range of light to heavy pressure to stimulate proper circulation, relax tired muscles and rejuvenate you with new vigor. Other common styles are Siatsu, Aromatherapy, Refloxology and Thai massage.

FACIALS

Next to massage, facials are the second most common treatment. Facials are performed on the skin by an esthetician and are done with careful analysis of the skin. The basic step is cleaning and facials are aimed not only for cleaning but also for exfoliating and nourishing the skin to keep it hydrated. The entire process is pretty simple: cleansing, skin analysis, exfoliating, blackheads' extraction if necessary, a massage on the face, application of masks, toners and creams. A good esthetician should recommend home remedies to allow a well-hydrated skin; at least, you need to have one facial session per quarter or per season.

BODY WRAPS

This type of service would usually mean wrapping the body with required substances such as clay, mud or algae. Ideally performed on the body by a therapist, this style can produce softened and well-hydrated skin. With all the physical benefits, it is also known to help in detoxifying the body from harmful substances. Please note though that there is no massage in this treatment, substances are rubbed and left for 20 minutes on your body and will be rinsed in awhile.

SALT GLOWS

This stimulating spa service is done mainly for the purpose of exfoliating your skin. The therapist uses sea salt and later will apply aromatic oils with lavender for example. A shower follows and either you step into the shower or lie down while you are being bathed. Lotions are then applied to leave you a soft and smooth skin.

PEDICURES and MANICURES

Taking care of your nails is very important. Although not very common in all spa stores, these services are specially created compared to that of the ordinary nail salon. Aside from the ambiance, nail beauty experts ensure you are receiving a royal treatment and the result of their work should be long lasting. The following makes the service a little more expensive compared to that from the nail salon.
