What Are Community Action Agencies (CAAs)?

Community Action Agencies (CAAs) are nonprofit private and public organizations established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America's War on Poverty. Community Action Agencies help people to help themselves in achieving self-sufficiency. Today there are approximately one thousand (1000) Community Action Agencies, serving the poor in every state as well as Puerto Rico and the Trust Territories. CAAs are a primary source of direct support for the more than 34.5 million people who live in poverty in the United States. The majority of CAA program participants are extremely poor, with incomes below seventy-five (75) percent of the federal poverty threshold, or $9,735 for a family of three.

The Importance of Care Providers Insurance to Community Action Agencies

Community Action Agencies (CAAs) are a type of care provider they provide assistance to the disenfranchised, improving quality of life for people throughout a community. Few organizations are so noble in purpose. As such, it is truly imperative to keep them operating, even when misfortune strikes. So much more is on the line with care providers like such as community action agencies. A blow to the organization means much more than a loss of jobs it means a loss of community integrity, prosperity, and hope. It means everything to those who don't have much. Because a community thrives when all of its members prosper. And convincing people to bail out a struggling nonprofit is regrettably much more difficult than convincing them to bail out automakers or Wall Street firms. Insurance for care providers, in conjunction with public/government support, is crucial to protecting the impoverished and those employed by CAAs, but also to protect communities.
