A comparison between Lasik surgery and contact lenses
If we have some vision problems, we may choose to wear glasses or lenses or even get eye surgeries

And there is a trend that some people advocate lasik eye surgery is a much better option other than contact lenses. However, it is really very hard to tell which one is better- both lenses and Lasik have their own merits and demerits. For example, we may suffer from greater complication after Lasik eye surgery within certain period of time, but the complications in contact lenses can be long time and occur at anytime.On the whole, both lasik eye surgery and lenses can bring us a lot of benefits. But they also bring us a lot of risks and we must consult with our eye doctors before getting or using them. Or sometimes, what we should choose is determined by our specific condition.
Therefore, it is very hard to tell whether or not lasik eye surgery is better than lenses. As for risks, both of them may lead to permanent blindness if extreme case. Our eyes might be infected by different factors if we get lasik or use contact lenses.

But if seen in the long run, lasik eye surgery can ensure a much brighter and safer future. The complications and risk only occurs within certain period of time. Or to some extent, both the surgery and lenses can do a nice job in eliminating complications and other eye infections in the long run.
In a word, no obvious evidence can prove that lasik eye surgery is much better than contact lenses in terms of safety. And what we should choose is really determined by our personal situation and eye doctors' suggestions.
