Chemotherapy, it is used after lung surgery to clean tumor cancer cells that remains after the surgery and increase the survival rate. This kind of chemotherapy is called adjuvant chemotherapy.
Early stage of lung cancer prognosis and survival rates
The prognosis lung cancer stage 1 is still good. In few years before, lung cancer stage 1 survival rate is from 60% to 80%, however, in recent studies the survival rate can reach 90% due to the surgery advancement.
The prognosis lung cancer stage 2 is better than later stage. The 5 years survival rates for stage 2 lung cancer is 40 to 50%. However, the prognosis and survival rates may vary depend on the tumor and your general health.
