It has been proven that if you have say 4 hours sleep you have a slower metabolism than if you had 8 hours. People who sleep less than 8 hours eat more because they think they need more to eat as awake longer. 2) Eat more protein. This is highly beneficial for you as protein helps to stabilize the amount of insulin in your blood stream. 3) Exercise in the evening. It has been found that your metabolism slows down in the afternoon and the evening. It is therefore wise to take an evening walk or exercise class to increase it so as to burn calories from dinner and not sleep with them built up in your body. 4) Grow lean muscle. Increasing your lean muscle produces a higher metabolism. There is no need to overdo it but 20 minutes every 3 days of push ups, squats etc will help. 5) Dont skip meals.
