7 Best Tours In Sydney 2010 Under $40

It can even be difficult to find a decent meal for less than $40 nowadays ..

. so we have given ourselves a big pat on the back for collecting such a great list of tours in Sydney for less than $40! If you're staying at a backpacker hostel in Sydney and can't fork out a fortune for sightseeing, here are some great ways to explore the city on a budget. Please note, the cruises are in no particular order.

Coastal Environment Centre Eco Ferry Tour - From $25

The Coastal Environment Centre is a facility of Pittwater Council, and during the summer months of the year they offer boat cruises around the Pittwater Estuary, a great place to experience the unique Australian fauna. If you have a few extra dollars, take some of the well-priced cruise options like snorkelling, fishing, and bushcraft, and let your hosts arrange your lunch.

Jibbon Headland Aboriginal Discovery Tour - From $12 7 Best Tours In Sydney 2010 Under $40

Aboriginal Australia is an integral part of the history of the country - this tour is a very inexpensive way to get a first-hand perspective on Aboriginal culture and life. You take a ferry from Cronulla to Bundeena Ferry Wharf, and experience a side of Royal National Park that you never would have been aware of. Plenty of flora and fauna to check out, and a rare glimpse into an ancient culture.

Bounce Walking Tours - From $25

The Sydney Sights tour is the cheapest, and probably the most popular, of the Bounce Walking Tours. If you're staying at your backpacker hostel in Sydney for a while, these tours are a great way to start getting your bearings in the city. The tour covers the main sights, including the Opera House, the Rocks, the Harbour Bridge, the Botanic Gardens and more.

Australian Architecture Association Cruises - from $30

Even if you aren't architecturally-inclined, these are fascinating tours! The walking tours of Castlecrag and Surry Hills, as well as the Architecture Bar Tour (beer with a classy veneer!) are all around $30, and help you see a side of the city that it is otherwise easy to miss.

Aboriginal Heritage Tours - $28

Similar to he Jibbon Headland Discovery Tour, but much closer to your city central backpackers in Sydney, is the Aboriginal Heritage Tour around the Botanic Gardens in Sydney. You get not only a sense of the Aboriginal connection to the land, but an encounter with traditional dance, artefacts and music. You'll get to experience bush food (yes, actually taste it!) and learn about how Aboriginals used plants as medicine and in everyday life. You do need seven people to book a tour, though.

The Rocks Pub Tour - from $39

You shouldn't have any problem dragging out some of the other guests at your Sydney backpacker hostel for this tour! You'll wander through the convict-built cottages along cobblestone streets, stopping for a beer at every opportunity - is there anything else you could ask for?7 Best Tours In Sydney 2010 Under $40

Fort Denison Tour - from $17

The only way to get out to Fort Denison Island is to join a tour (unless you packed your jet boat in your suitcase), and this one is ultra-cheap. Your group will check out the Martello Tower, the Fort Denison museum and the historic tide gauge room. There is a caf to have lunch at, or you can keep costs down and pack your own.

Just because you're backpacking in Sydney , doesn't mean you can't experience much of the city! These tours are all ultra-cheap, fascinating, and well worth the cost.
