Es Emini: Often Misused, The Macd Can Put Money In Your Pocket

I use a variety of indicators on my trading charts. It is important to me to be able confirm short term trends through the use of multiple variables. The middle indicator on all of my charts is always the MACD. MACD stands for Moving Average Convergence/Divergence Indicator. It is an indicator I have used for much of my emini trading career, so you could say we have a fairly intimate relationship. In my trading, I have found the MACD to be...more

Three Marketing Giants Adjust To The New post-crash Reality

Never let it be said that America cannot adapt to changing circumstance. After 18 months of recession (and three months of growth purchased wholly with borrowed and invented money), and with official unemployment slated to remain at roughly 10% for the foreseeable future (and unofficial unemployment somewhere closer to 20%), three iconic marketing giants have stepped up to the plate, squinted steely-eyed at the pitcher, and swung for the...more

Es Emini: Make A Fortune On Single Set-ups

It seems every trader I talk to has a favorite trade set-up that he/she claims has never lost money. Common sense dictates that such a statement is pure nonsense. I always think to myself "surely the trade has lost money at least once." Or is it nonsense? The toughest concept for most novice, and many experience traders is one of simplicity; Every trade taken has a probability of success. Some trade set-ups are far more likely to turn a profit than others. In its simplest application, a trade would not normally decide to go long when the market is in a sharp decline, as that trade has a low probability of success. On the other hand, a trade with the trend or price action might well have a higher probability of success. But there is a problem with trading in the probabilistic sense, and that lies in the revelation that there are no 100% trades. But one could certainly make a great living if he/she found a trade that was, say, 70% successful. Of course, even a trade with a 70% probability has a component of failure to be dealt with, and coming to grips with a 30% failure rate is difficult to conceptualize. So what do you do with this information?Perhaps adding a momentum...more

How Much Will The Tax Be When Cashing Out A 401k?

When you're trying to make the very difficult decision to withdraw from your retirement savings the first thing you're going to want to know is how much will the tax be when cashing out a 401k. The tax percentage you will be charged is decided on an individual basis, but there are ways for you to figure this out. You will be charged both state and federal taxes. The federal percentage varies based on your income bracket. Keep in mind that the money you have put into a traditional retirement plan was before taxes were taken out, which means that money lowered your bracket. If you invested in your retirement plan last year and not this year, then that may raise your income and put you in a higher percentage bracket. Also, the money you are cashing out will count as income for this year, and may raise your bracket, as well. Despite all these variables, you can look at your tax paperwork from last year, which will say what percentage you fell into and estimate from there. The state percentage applies to your whole state, and you can easily look up your particular states current percentage online, or, find it on your last years paperwork, assuming it hasn't gone up this year. If you have...more
