TV time sums up

Among many facets of life, the family is more affected due to the time you spend in watching television. Latest figures from Nielsen Media Research, Inc., reveals that on an average, each American spends about four and a half hours each day watching TV and that sums up to nearly 126 hours a month.

Family in distress

Although an American spends about 126 hrs watching TV a month, he spends only two and half hours each month in a meaningful conversation with their kids. Considering this contrast, it is not surprising to know that such families are in a state of crisis. How can anyone expect to have an expressive or meaningful talk with their kids if they are so busy watching Television? It is impossible to do so.

Your children need more time from you

They may not say a word about it. But they need more time to spend with you and your family. If they could have one wish granted, they will definitely choose to have more time spend with you, rather than having more money to buy things for them or choosing to live in bigger houses.

A quality family time

Some of you may think that watching television along with your kids will make them feel that you are spending quality time with them. But the truth is, it is not! There happens very little or no interaction among members who watch a TV show together. Every one of you may be relaxed but each one of your attention is focused on to the screen. It is not the same as playing a game together or working together.

Television in your bedroom

You can never expect to build a meaningful relationship while watching TV, especially watching television in your bedroom. Your sex life will be affected in a severe way as per a recent study conducted in Italy which may eventually lead to divorce.

Analyze yourself

You should start doing some documentation on the amount of time your family spends watching Television, each week. Analyze that and decide if there is any other better way to spend your time together which may be meaningful as well. Time really flies by once you are glued to the Television.

Solve your family problems

Problems won't simply get solved or vanish by switching off your television set. However, by doing so, you are giving your family the time to confront simple problems in life. It will also help you to make some ever lasting memories. So, what are you waiting for? Turn off your Television, spend some quality time with your wife and kids and start building a new life that you can cherish forever.
