You have decided that you are going to become an Internet guru and start making all the money you ever dreamed of
, just like all of the other gurus are doing, right? Not so fast skippy, the one thing you may not have thought about is your online earning potential.So, what is an online earning potential? Well, basically it is the potential you currently have or are needing to develop to actually make money online.
If you are the average person surfing the web and you have typed in the key phrase "make money online" or "online business opportunities" then you have probably faced a gauntlet of "get-rich-quick" schemes that on the surface of their slick sales page may seem like they actually may work. Guess what? Most don't. I don't know how to tell you this, but for the most part the so called gurus are making their money by getting your email address along with another 100k of them and sending out another set of slick sales pages all designed to take your money.
When you have an email subscriber list of thousands or you have a developed website that gets a few hundred unique visitors everyday, it's not that hard to put something together that a few people will buy. Marketing online is the key to your own online earning potential.
Think about it. In the 70's some guy came up with this idea of gluing eyes on rocks and calling his product a pet rock. This was some what of a hit with a lot of folks and the guy made money. It's all about marketing and the virtual world is no different.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not just talking about advertising. Advertising is a part of an overall marketing campaign, but there are other areas that you need to concentrate on as well. You need to put out some advertising using different strategies. You may want to use pay per click advertising like with Google's Adwords program or Microsoft adcenter. You will also want to put out some videos, it is very easy with Youtube. As I mentioned above, I also talked about email marketing. You can purchase some email lists, put together a little email package and send them out. The important thing with marketing is that you get your name and your product out there. Google didn't always roll of the tongues of Internet users around the world, they actually had to start at the beginning too. Amazon is the same way and I think you will find that all businesses had to start at the beginning just as you are doing too.
You ability to market effectively online is going to determine what you online earning potential is. Learning how to become an effective marketer is not that hard, but it will take some time, however, if you are really interested in working from home, or wherever you want to work from, then you are going to have to put in the time to get the education you will need and do the work necessary to get you there. It's not hard, but I don't think that there is necessarily an easy path.
