The reward is either a privilege or a tangible thing like a small toy.
If using toys in your reward system you obviously cannot afford a large number of expensive toys so it is important to choose something small and inexpensive that has inherent value for the child, and ideally becomes more valuable when added to others. Thus the best kind of toys can be small models or collectables of some kind that the child has an interest in and can appreciate the growing collection.
