Studies have shown that the cost of living anywhere in the world has gone up tremendously over the past decade alone, with the escalation reaching the highest among major cities. The basic cost of food, education and healthcare insurance continue to rise every year due to a number of complex economic and political reasons. It is therefore necessary for the wise to plan for a second income resource for the rainy day. Sometimes, we need to learn from the ants.
Unfortunately, most of our day jobs today consume a vast amount of our precious conscious time daily. Considering the importance of having proper rest and sufficient family time, landing ourselves with a second demanding job will probably devastate our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This is something I am not willing to compromise at all. Hence, I believe the best way for me to earn a second income is to learn how to generate passive income online.
Following are a few reasons why I believe this is the best approach.
Internet Boom
I look around today and I am completely amazed on a daily basis at how fast the internet has exploded in the past five to ten years. A smart phone with Wifi access is practically unheard of ten years ago. Thanks to the iPhone revolution in a way, where I live there are about 40 percent of smart phone users and not surprisingly most of them are using the iPhone.
The internet is a double edged sword. You can either obsess yourself with online games or you can use it to earn passive income online. Just admire the growing success of eBay and Amazon and you will know what I mean.
The readily available use of internet at fast food chains, cafes, schools, airports and shopping malls tells me only one thing online income opportunities are everywhere.
New Consumer Behavior
I have noticed that people are more opened to buying things online today. The Christmas season alone raked in huge revenues for the major online stores every year. With more secure transaction policies in place and consumer protection awareness, it is no surprise that both the young and the old are practicing work efficiencies by buying things online. This gives me another reason to consider pursuing passive income online as a source of my second income.
Quick Delivery
It is one thing to buy, another to receive the goods. The other reason why I believe that more consumers are willing to make buy online today is because of quick delivery, if not instant. This is especially true for media products purchase. But even physical goods today usually take no longer than a week to arrive.
Having said all these, we all know that we need a second income, regardless of our current financial status because there is no true security in where we plow and sweat.
