Why Parents Need A Video Baby Monitor

Some parents are of the opinion that they're a waste of time and what's the problem in using your ears anyway?Let's face it parents having been doing fine this way for years and another thing, won't it turn you into a paranoid parent? On the other hand, there are those parents who swear by having a video monitor as it gives them peace of mind wherever they are in the house and whatever they're doing, especially new parents.Whether you like it or not video baby monitors are here to stay and they are becoming much more technologically advanced in their functions and features. Well yes, but in a good way as this means that father's too can keep an eye of on their little bundle of joys just as much as mother's.
Another good reason for parents to have a video baby monitor is sleep deprivation. As you know after the initial euphoria of having a baby has worn off, and it does eventually, reality hits with parents losing much needed sleep. This is confirmed by a recent survey undertaken by Oricom, an Australian baby monitor brand who revealed that out of 128 people surveyed, over half were losing over an hour's sleep a night and around slightly less over two hours. It turns out that at least one in five parents spend over two hours checking on their sleeping baby with dad's doing their share.
With parents having to get up numerous times during the night, what tends to happen is what should be a truly happy time turns out to be a bit of a nightmare as sleep deprivation can turn any sane person into a bundle of nerves.
This is where having a video baby monitor can help. Not only can you hear your baby's sounds but you can also see them at the same time. Most video baby monitors come with automatic black and white night vision so you can see your baby in a darkened room and at night. And when it comes time foryou to sleep you can turn your video monitor off and switch on the voice activation alert (available on many models), usually sensitive enough to pick up the slightest whimper which then turns the video on so you can see if baby is in distress without you having to get up.
Even parents of young children need sleep and if having a video baby monitor can help give peace of mind then its a necessity in my book.
