What Your Kids Can Do When It Rains
Rainy days can be very depressing, especially for children
. After a long winter and with warm weather approaching, kids want to get out and play. Waking up to a rainy day is no fun at all. Having some good rainy day' activities can put everyone in a better mood.1. Going to the library is a great rainy day adventure. Your kids can pick out books and bring them home to read.
2. Almost every kid likes to watch movies but choosing the right ones is important. Educational movies are very easily available and will be beneficial to the child and make mom feel good as well.
3. Having an idea box' is also a fun idea. Have the kids come up with ideas for activities and then on a rainy day they get to choose a surprise activity that they had thought of.
4. You can also play dress-up and have a tea party. Dressing up can be great fun for both the children and parents as well. You could wear bowties for the dads and poodle skirts for daughters and moms.
5. Another fun time killer is playing board games. The sky is the limit for choices and varieties available. Puzzles are also a good idea and smaller children tend to love them.
6. Another game to play is 'reversed writing'. Older children seem to like this and it can keep them busy for hours. The object is to write a sentence backwards and then bring your paper to a mirror to see how you did. It can be great fun and pretty challenging.
7. Baking chocolate chip cookies is a classic rainy day activity. The kids can stir the dough and get the ingredients together. When the cookies are done you can snuggle up and enjoy watching the rain come down outside.
