What To See In Honolulu When You Are Not At The Beach
Honolulu is the capital of Hawaii and also the biggest city on the island

Hawaii was also the place where the United States were attacked by the Japanese during World War II. The memorial honoring those that gave their lives for their country on that fateful date of December 7 1941, when Pearl Harbor was attacked , is one of the most important sites to see in Honolulu. You can arrive to the memorial by boat and take in a short history of the events which are presented in a half an hour documentary, after which you will be invited on a tour of the famous battleship USS Missouri.
Honolulu is also the only city in the United States, that is home to a royal palace. The palace is called 'Iolani, and was erected towards the end of the 19th century by King Kalakaua. The architecture is impressive as is the history of the place. It is best to visit the glorious palace during Fridays when the Royal Hawaiian Band offers free performances to visitors coming to see the palace.
Despite having so much water around, you may still want to see the Waikiki Aquarium. More than four hundred species of marine creatures originating in the Pacific Ocean call this aquarium their home, and the entire place offers great entertainment outside of simply exhibiting the interesting species. Here, music concerts are also often held as well as other kinds of performances, making it worth the time to check out the aquarium.
Many visitors to Honolulu also love the Bishop Museum. This museum features a lot of exhibits that trace the history of the island back to the early days.
