, this is the very definition of fidgeting. When a child can't help but move around, dance everywhere, has this uncontrollable need to have something in ones hand; this is called fidgeting. Commonly found in children because they are always on the go. They love playing around and making use of their bodies. A child's fidgeting may cause them to amuse themselves with the use of hair, finger, clothing's or anything they can reach their hands on.

Children who are fidgeting are thought to have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) though it doesn't necessarily mean that the child has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. One cause of fidgeting is if the child is so talented that he finds school uninteresting and unexciting.

Children might not know that they are fidgeting. As long as they don't disturb others, we should not call their attention with regards to this habit of theirs. Verify if they understand the lesson if you think that they are not paying attention. Even if the child fidgets, he still can listen to what you are teaching.

Giving children something to hold on to would actually make them feel more at ease. This allows them to concentrate on the lesson that is being taught. Safety is priority when it comes to fidgeting kids, always make sure you give them an item that will not hurt them or others for that matter. Allowing them to play with the item without throwing or hurting at others promotes positive behavior for the child.What Should We Do With Fidgeting Children?


In related studies, doctors found that children who were left to fidget freely learned more and faster than the ones who were not allowed to do so. Studies also show that the fidgeting the child does promote them to think, learn, and speak.

Fidgeting can't be cured but it can be lessened. There were a lot of studies on how to minimize fidgeting. Stability balls were one of the promising solutions but unfortunately long-term use causes posture problems for children so as to maintain a relaxed environment for the children, exercises and stretching were done every 30 minutes.

We should just let the children be unless their fidgeting causes trouble not only for the child but for others as well. We should focus on redirecting their fidgeting to positive actions, as this will make help them respond better at school.
