What A Trip To Nairobi, Kenya Is Really Worth

What A Trip To Nairobi, Kenya Is Really Worth

Nairobi is used by many people just as a flight stop on their way to see the beaches

and the national parks inside this exotic country called Kenya, but the capital city is worth spending a little time seeing, even if only for a few days. The city is quite amazing, with its great shopping opportunities, fine restaurants, top of the line hotels, famous night clubs and many other hot spots for tourists.

If you plan to visit Nairobi, one idea would be to book a tour through a travel agency. If you don't know where to start, you should start by asking at your hotel for guidance, as they will surely be able to help you. A shuttle bus will take you from your hotel and will take you on the tour of your choosing.

Here are some of the most important places to visit while in Nairobi: the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum, the Bomas village, the Watatu art gallery and the Solar ice rink. You can visit many of these spots on foot, as they are concentrated in the center of the city, but if you want to travel further, you will have to hire a taxi or a matatu (sort of a shuttle bus).

The National Park in Nairobi is, for sure, one spot to visit. You can take a cab there, as most hotels offer such services to tourists in search of a little bit of adventure. Once there, you can embark on a safari adventure. What A Trip To Nairobi, Kenya Is Really Worth

If you want to benefit from the services offered by a tour guide, you will have to pay extra, besides the admission fee. On your safari ride, you will be able to see lions, zebras, giraffes and rhinos.

Accommodations in Nairobi are not particularly cheap, even if some are budget options. The hotels located in the center of the city tend to be more expensive.

Somehow, the city has a poor reputation because of the crime rate, but most areas are covered by askaris which are the local police guards that keep an eye on the streets. Also, the more expensive hotels are guarded by personal staff in order to ensure the safety of the guests.

From Nairobi, you can explore all Kenya. You can take a plane from one of the two main airports found inside the city and you can visit all the national parks that are scattered around the country.

You can also travel by train, if you want to choose a different means of transportation. Railways are connecting Nairobi with some of the most important cities in the country and this is a convenient way of getting anywhere you want inside Kenya. The costs are also fairly cheap, so, if you are traveling on a budget, don't hesitate to hop on a train.
