Stop eating at restaurants. Restaurants are many people's biggest obstacle. The smells of the comforting and familiar foods can be overwhelmingly tempting. The main dish of vegetables easily becomes the side dish with a hamburger or chicken with fattening sauce takes over your plate.

Pack your own lunches, plan breakfast and dinners ahead of time and stick to it. Keep motivating post-its around your kitchen and work space to remind you of your goals. Prepare meals ahead of time so all you need do is reach for them a eat or pop them into the oven. These tips may take practice but will be worth it in the end.

Try to cut down on bread while increasing veggie consumption. One easy way is to replace a traditional sandwich with a wrap. Low carb wraps for sandwiches are easy to find at your local market. Try a variety of sliced or grated vegetables added to your wrap. If possible, start each lunch and dinner with a fresh salad to get your enzymes and metabolism revving.

Put down the diet soda. This is because research proves that even diet soda can sabotage weight loss. Other studies on mice proved that diet soda raised blood sugar.

Replace any soda with water; add citrus for flavor if needed. Allow your taste buds to enjoy fresh water. Also look for green and herbal teas. You can retrain your taste buds to enjoy the fresh water and juices. Teas, diluted juice and fresh water will all help your body flush fats. Unlike soda, water and juice helps to keep your body hydrated. Doing this weight loss tip will go a long way to help you reach your goals.

Exercise just a little. If you are used to exercise, then keep at it. Strive for at least 30 minutes a day if you are trying to lose weight and if your health permits. If you are not used to exercise and you hate even the thought of it - start small.

Short bursts of exercise, like only 10 minutes, may be an easier way to start. Ten minutes is mentally easier to think about than longer. You may be surprised at how quickly ten minutes goes by; especially if you find a fun exercise. There are many DVD's that boast 10 minute exercise routines. Other types of exercise are brisk walking or jogging. Try a variety of exercises until you find one you like.

The trick is to make exercise part of your lifestyle and start somewhere. Often, people get overly excited and start with an hour of exercise. After a week or two life starts getting in the way as that 40 minutes become a lot longer with clothes changes, showering and so on. It can be very easy to give up at this point. If this sounds like you, then start with the ten minute plan and see if it works.

Try keeping a weight loss record. Losing weight can be highly emotional with more obstacles than you think. Often, keeping a journal can help you identify and more easily deal with problems. Write down what you eat, when and why; even if you cheat. Why are you overweight? Do you exercise and eat right?
