Ways Of Using Your Petrol Hedge Trimmer

Ways Of Using Your Petrol Hedge Trimmer

After having chosen a good hedge trimmer to work with you might want some tips on how to use it effectively..

. Since there will be a lot of garbage to clean this is a much needed tip, since you might want to prepare in order to save time on your cleaning.

Here are some tips on using your petrol hedge trimmer. Equipment you will need:

* Your fully fueled petrol hedge trimmer with any additions

* A tarpaulin or ground sheet

* A step-ladder

* Marking out string and wooden stakes (for formal hedges only)

* Lopping shears (for large branches)

* Pre cut template from cardboard or wood if the top of your hedge is shaped (arched)

A good idea is to place your tarpaulin or ground sheet around the main area where you will be cutting in order to collect as much branches and leaves as possible. How about that? You just saved probably half an hour of collecting and lifting, bending and carrying twigs and crap... No way, prepare and never worry.

If you have one at your disposal, then a garden shredder might be something you want to consider as you can quickly and easily place branches and twigs into it and break it down fast.

Put up two wooden stakes in order to easily put a string in between, this will help you with accurate trimming if you want to cut a shape for example, or if you simply want a nice straight line then use the string and stretch it between the posts. This is an expert tip that many gardeners use to prevent from making mistakes when they cut larger hedges for clients.

If you have large branches that might not be able to get trimmed with your trimmer, consider using your lopping shears before hand to easily remove the excess branches that are in the way of your trimmer.

A nice idea to see if you are doing well is to take a simple step back and admire your own work... Yepp, this is a good idea because you need to know if you are doing alright or if it's starting to look bad.

If your hedge hasn't been trimmed in a while then a good idea is to use a "delicate blade" first and clean up the various damage or small problem areas first... Fine tune before your do the hard work so to speak.

With these tips your hedge should look more beautiful than ever... Hopefully you do not have any problems with your hedge and it all works out perfectly.
