. The show is about a pizza delivery boy from today's time who was frozen for a few thousand years and awakened in the future. The death of Futurama is often blamed on sports. FOX was often unable to air the show in its timeslot due to the fact it was being preempted by sporting events. This caused Fox to not even air several episodes that were created for seasons three and four until season five. Due to the high scheduling conflict rate with sporting events the ratings of Futurama plummeted and FOX decided to quit buying new episodes.
