In addition to being an unspoiled oasis of pristine, white sandy beaches, the Outer Banks also protect the North Carolina coast against Hurricanes and other dangerous storms.

The Outer Banks has a number of small towns and villages, but only has a permanent year-round population of about 33,500. Every year, tourists and other visitors add millions to the local population.

Other activities range from swimming and diving to surfing and parasailing.

While Dad takes the kids to the beach, Mom can spoil herself just a little by going to one of the many Nail salons on the outer banks. Still others have full service salons as well as spa services and workout facilities.

To get an idea of where the nail salons on the Outer Banks are located, you need to have an idea of the area. As a narrow, long strip of barrier islands, the area is divided in to 3 general areas. The Northern Outer Banks include towns like Carova, Corolla and Duck. The Central Outer Banks contains the most well known towns of Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head. Located to the south are Avon, Buxton and Hatteras Island.

Visitors to the Outer Banks can choose to stay in moderately priced hotel rooms or rent a luxurious 8 bedroom, 8 bath home with private swimming pool and hot tub.
