VW revamp their cabriolets for summer
Looking out the window you may not feel it, but summer is only a few months away, ok I'm being optimistic but behind the scenes many businesses are preparing for summer. New spring/summer catalogues will be out soon with summer goodies, which always cheer me up.
Car manufacturers predict that customers start shopping for a cabriolet in the middle of January as the weather gets really poor and people look even more forward to the summer and how they want to make the most of it. With this in mind VW will be unveiling the European Volkswagen Eos, alongside the new Volkswagen Beetle cabriolet in Buckinghamshire.
The revamped Eos has gone under some visual and technical enhancements; the revised design brings it in line with the latest iteration of Volkswagen's design language as seen on the new Polo, Passat and Sharan. It has received the new prominent front grille with the chrome highlights, new headlights featuring LED daytime running lights and a modified front bumper with fog lights and air scoops.
Inside the Eos comes with new trim finishes including the new cool leather', it reflects the sun's rays to prevent it heating up as conventional leather would. It also now has a leather multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning, a powerful eight-speaker CD stereo system and sports seats.
Volkswagen have made some changes to the engine choices for the Eos too, it comes with a range of efficient petrol and diesel engines including the 1.4 litre TSI with 122bhp or 160bhp. There is also a 2.0-litre TSI unit producing 210 bhp as well as a refined 2.0-litre TDI engine delivering 140 bhp. BlueMotion Technology variants will also be available featuring Stop/Start and battery regeneration systems to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
