Used Bmw S1000rr's Could Help Bolster Bsb Grid In 2010
With a successful season of competition under their belts in the World Superbike championship
, BMW could turn their outlook towards the domestic championships in 2010 either in full factory or privateer form, with competitors looking to invest in new or used BMW S1000RR's for the new Evo championship set to be unvalued in 2010.With the company offering a very supportive package, a whole host of privateers are looking at turning used BMW S1000RR's into competitive, racing winning machines that could take them to the BSB privateers cup.
It has been an amazing year for the German manufacturer, who has managed to go from strength to strength with their inaugural superbike project. It has won critical acclaim from the press and has been featured at a number of high profile events, for instance in MotoGP their sponsorship of the series has been a perfect platform.
At Jerez the MotoGP paddock used BMW S1000RR's as marshall bikes to ferry people around the track. Some called it shameless advertising, I just thought it was a clever marketing technique, why pass up an opportunity to push your product to the forefront of everyone's mind.
The bike has received great praise within the World Superbike paddock too. It has been a trying year for the German manufacturer but it has also been an impressive debut, for a brand new manufacturer to perform the way it has in the series has been breathtaking, the only negative aspect of their season is the fact that they were consistently outperformed by the dominant Aprilia RSV4.
The debut season for the team has followed the philosophy of the company itself. The company is known for its incredible levels of reliability which has meant that you don't often see a used BMW stranded by the side of the road. It has also integrated their own brand of racing pedigree into the brand, with its breakneck speed, agility and overall performance. Even the journalist that have had the opportunity to test the bike have been impressed with the performance and feel that it gives back.
So will the British Superbike grid be flooded with used BMW S1000RR's in 2010, with the announcement of the new EVO class, it makes it even more likely that people will look to find the best handling bikes for the championship. BMW has a reputation for being an exceptionally easy car to drive and they will be hoping that they can transfer this form into the two wheel market and tempt the British Superbike Privateers to part with their hard earned cash.
