Nowadays, it seems like children that are old enough to read want their own mobile device

. There are some parents who are more than happy to supply them with one. There are more children now getting mobile phones before their teenage years, you cannot keep count. You can imagine that some of these kids are smart enough to even ask for Unlocked Cell Phones.

Parents have to be careful of giving them one too soon because the child has to be able to handle a responsibility with having a mobile phone. Most children don't have Unlocked Cell Phones, or any mobile device, and once they get one, it's easy for them to abuse the privilege.

There are some factors that parents should take into consideration before they decide to purchase a mobile device like Alltel Cell Phones for their child.

They have to be responsible for keeping the phone secure. When in school, it's easy for them to get distracted and not think about keeping the device out of sight. Not only is it easy for them to lose it, but the child can get tempted and run up the bill by talking for long periods of time. A parent will be able to tell if they are responsible enough just by seeing how they take care of their other possessions.

While at school, the child should only use it in the event of an emergency or to let them know that they will be staying late. If they are responsible enough to use it for that purpose, then it would be up to the parents to determine if they can have one.

8- 12 years old, you can't just refuse it because of their age. Citing the information above, plus if they have a special medical need, they may need to have one. However, it must be stressed that it should be used for only those circumstances.

When a child gets in their pre-teen years, there is more peer pressure for them to have a phone. Parents still have to stand their ground and not let their child pressure them into getting one because some of their schoolmates have them.

So as far as age is concerned, that is something that the parents will have to deal with. Some children mature faster than others and may be able to accept responsibility for having a mobile phone.
