Argentina

A valid passport is required to enter Argentina. However, U.S. citizens do not need a visa for visits less than 90 days for tourism or business. U.S. citizens must pay an entry fee in dollars, by credit card, or with traveler's checks and is valid for ten years and multiple entries.

To enter and depart Bolivia, you must have a U.S. passport valid for at least six months from the date of your proposed entry into Bolivia. If you are a U.S. citizen seeking to enter Bolivia as a tourist, you must obtain an entry visa. You can apply for a Bolivian tourist visa by mail or in person at Bolivian consulates in the U.S. , as well as at Bolivian ports of entry, such as Bolivian international airports or at land border crossings. Bolivian tourist visas are valid for five years from the date of issuance and allow the bearer to enter the country three times in a year for a cumulative stay of less than ninety days. The tourist visa costs $135 U.S. dollars. You can pay the fee in cash, by deposit to the Bolivian Consulate's bank account, or by money order. If you choose to apply for the visa upon arrival to Bolivia you must pay this fee in cash to immigration authorities. In addition to the $135 fee, you must present a visa application form with a 4x4 color photograph, a passport with a validity of at least 6 months, evidence of a hotel reservation or letter of invitation in Spanish, proof of economic solvency (credit card, cash, or a current bank statement), and an International Vaccination Certificate for yellow fever.

Brazil

U.S. citizens are required to carry a valid passport and a visa when traveling to Brazil for any purpose. You must obtain your Brazilian visa in advance from the Brazilian Embassy or consulate nearest to your place of residence. There are no "airport visas." If you have recently visited certain countries, including most other Latin American countries, you may be required to present an inoculation card indicating you had a yellow fever vaccination.

Chile

U.S. citizens entering Chile must have a valid passport but travelers to Chile for recreation, tourism, business, or academic conferences do not need to obtain a visa prior to their arrival in Chile. A Tourist Card will be issued for a stay of up to 90 days upon payment of a $140 reciprocity fee. Currently, the fee is only charged at the Santiago International Airport and can be paid in U.S. cash or by credit card. An extension of stay for another 90 days is possible upon payment of an extension fee at the Chilean Immigration Office in Santiago. The Tourist Card must be returned upon departure.

Ecuador

If you are a U.S. citizen entering Ecuador, you must present a U.S. passport with at least six months remaining validity and evidence of a return or onward airline ticket. If you are traveling for tourism or business you do not need a visa for a stay less than 90 days. When departing Ecuador by airplane you will be charged an airport tax (payable in U.S. dollars only) which depends on the city from which you depart.

Peru

A valid passport is required to enter and depart Peru and tourists must also provide evidence of return or onward travel. Peru does not require any immunizations for entry, although it recommends vaccination against Yellow Fever.
