The longer you have a Twitter account, the more people you are bound to follow, and the more the need for some organization. Twitter has added a lists feature, but no where else is that more powerful than on TweetDeck.
Tweetdeck allows you to divide your feeds into columns, so you can have feeds from your friends on one, from news sources on another, and so on. It gives alerts when you get new messages and allows you actually make your use of Twitter more productive.
Tweetdeck also features spelling correction and integration with url shorteners. You can simply drag an image over the window and it will uplaod and tweet the url! You can also configure it to use multiple twitter accounts, and can even use FaceBook with it.
TweetDeck is a small application, only a couple MB, however it requires Adobe AIR to be installed on your computer. It might have slightly higher memory requirements that most other apps, so this is something you should keep in mind if you have an old computer.
TweetDeck is one of the most powerful social networking apps with support for FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace and LinkedIn. It even allows you to connect with multiple Twitter accounts.
