You also need to avoid tomato and tomato based products. These will increase the acidity of the stomach. Another food choice that you need to avoid are chocolates. Spicy foods are well known for their acidity as well. Avoid these together with another acidic substancescitrus fruits or juices.

Your doctor may prescribe you with a medication that can help relieve heartburn or prevent its occurrence. There are several of them out in the market. The most common of these medications for the treatment of heartburn are those that help neutralize or reduce the acidity of the stomach. There may be those that can increase the movement in your abdomen to help aid digestion and proper flow of GI contents.
