If, youre travelling closer home, you can decide to travel by train rather than by a flight. A train journey is way more fun than a short flight. It gives you a chance to look out of the window and really see the terrain through which you are travelling. No, our trains here in the U.S might not be the Euro rail, but theyre not so bad either! Plus, if youre travelling at a time which is not a busy time, you might just get a berth upgrade!
Heres a tip for sightseeing, instead of taking cabs which are generally the most expensive mode of transport at any place, why not look up bus schedules and take a bus, or even the tube. It works out much cheaper and you also end up saving a bunch of money which you can utilize on meals or shopping.
