One of the first things you must do is keep all your travel documents together in a properly arranged manner. Before you move out of your house you should have all your papers in order and you should keep them in a safe place where you can access them easily without fear of misplacing them. Travel documents include your passport, a valid photo ID that has been approved of by the government of your country, your plane tickets and your boarding passes. It is also sensible to make photocopies of these documents and keep some with someone back home and keep a copy with you.

Our next tip is that you should be careful not to over pack. Many of us get carried away while packing and often go overboard cramming in the most unneeded items. It is understandable wanting to be prepared for any eventuality but are you really going to need that evening gown or that bowtie on your travels! Pack smart and only put in what you need because even though you might not realize it right now, youre not going to need more than some basic outfits and accessories. Once you reach your destination you will be more occupied with sightseeing and touring and will no doubt regret having to lug around heavy bags and crammed suitcases. If your travel involves moving from place to place you should definitely pack light and only take what you need.

Carry an emergency medical kit with you on your travel. Be sure to keep basic medicines that you and your family use for common ailments such as headaches, stomach aches and mild fevers. Also, if you or any family member has a specific medical condition that you have a prescription for make sure you carry along enough medicines for the same. Many medicines are particular to the region and arent always available in other countries so you should be prepared beforehand.

Consult a family-oriented travel agency. If you are traveling with your family, your needs are going to be very different than if you were to be traveling alone. This is especially correct if you are taking children along with you. By asking for special hotel rooms, children-orient flight seats and other family-oriented considerations you will make your trip an easier and more pleasurable experience
