At some point we have all met a friend who has travelled through South-East-Asia;
not only have they made us green with their stories of amazing sunsets and peachy sandy beaches, but they have slipped in the cost of their trip. If you want a big night out you can hit the Print Works; if you want to upgrade a bit head to Deansgate and party with Manchester's 30-somethings on the weekend. You can really shop till you drop in Manchester, head to the Trafford centre. Looking for something non-commercial? The Northern Quarter it is, dubbed a small 'New York' filled with little cafes, vintage stores, charity chops, exciting bars and lots of alleyways.
If you get bored of Manchester (highly doubtful) you can take a train to Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, all about 45 minutes away. All have wonderful hotel rooms. You will definitely be able to find cheap hotel rooms here.
