Abuko Nature Reserve has a great variety of wildlife, including porcupines, monkeys, and reptiles, such as lizards, geckos and snakes. It was created back in 1968 not far from the capital of the country. Apart from Abuko, Gambia is famous for its protected forests and marshes, special reserves for birds and chimpanzees.
