Also located in Andalusia is the city of Cadiz, one of the oldest cities in Western Europe. It is easily accessible by car from many of Spains larger cities including Madrid, Cordoba, Seville and Barcelona. Cadiz holds many ancient treasures and boasts an unmistakable skyline. Residents of this ancient city enjoy great quality food and visitors to Cadiz should not miss indulging themselves in some local cuisine. Outside of Andalusia, Catalonia and Spains Basque country are two regions which should be considered. Both offer different dimensions of Spanish culture and visitors will get to experience contrasting architectural styles, food and more. Dotted with villages, farms and small cities, driving around Spain is one of the best ways to get a real feel for the country. Much of Spain remains rural and idyllic, though this is a quality that is not often seen by visitors who travel between major cities by train.
