. It must contain the items that are needed to help a person who is injured or ill until help arrives. The kit should take care of all types of injuries. Therefore it should contain all necessary items to take care of even serious injuries. While the contents of an adventure medical kit can be well beyond a child's grasp, you can always teach a kid how to use a basic kit. Teach the children with basic contents of these kits. These include manuals, adhesive tape, bandages, thermometer, ice pack, soap, cotton balls, tweezers, scissors, disposable gloves, antiseptic lotions, paper cups etc.

Show your child each item and mention the use of it. Explain him not to be scared in case of any emergency in the absence of you. Rather train them to use the first aid kit properly. Give them practical training; let them wipe with alcohol pads and apply bandages either in the real situation or as a mock on a doll. Ask them to prepare flash cards with the names of contents of first aid kits and their uses. Place them in the kit so that they can easily identify the necessary component easily. Teach them to dial 911 in an emergency situation. Also train them to contact the proper authorities for help.

Explain the child about CPR and why it is necessary. Demonstrate the mock test on a doll using the material of survival kit. Explain various situations of emergency such as minor cuts and scrapes, burns, bleeding, choking, broken bones and head injuries. In case of minor cuts and scrapes ask the child to clean the wound immediately with soap and water. Apply an antibiotic ointment and bandage the wound with adhesive bandage pad. Tell him the various types of burns and the treatment for each type. Show him how to do the contents in the kit in case of burns.

If it is first-degree burns then immerse in cold water, apply the burn cream and wrap it with sterile pad. In case of third-degree burns call 911 and seek immediate medical help. To control bleeding apply constant pressure or cover the wound and then call emergency. CPR techniques should be used in case of lack of breathing, heart attacks to save the lives. Do not move the patient when the bone is broken, keep him aside and cover him with blanket and call for medical help. In case of head injury followed by the symptoms such as loss of consciousness, dizziness or changes in speech call the ambulance immediately. Explain all these situations to your child carefully so that they can act and perhaps save a life in case of an emergency.
