Toyota Kenosha Residents Can Expect An American Toyota Plant In The Near Future

Yep, Toyota means it. The company has said it will make things right with customers and has not only worked round-the-clock to fix recalled vehicles, but is increasing production in the United States and opening an unused plant in Mississippi to provide much-needed jobs.

Toyota Kenosha dealers were thrilled to hear that the company will open the plant in Blue Springs, Mississippi next year to build Corollas, a best-selling model. Manufacturing is set to begin sometime in the fall of 2011.

The plant will provide jobs for 2,000 workers, a boost to the local economy, no doubt, which had the plant given to them in 2007 and then put on hold a year later due to the crashing auto industry. The original purpose of the plant was to build Highlander SUVs and Prius hybrids. Toyota changed plans and decided to build Corollas instead so production could begin sooner.

Toyota buyers, like those of used cars in Kenosha, should be glad that they will now have more opportunity to buy vehicles made in the USA. This can only help our economy and drive down prices. Toyota remains committed to making vehicles where we sell them and to maintaining a substantial manufacturing presence in North America, according to President and Chief Operating Officer of Toyota Motor North America, Yoshimi Inaba.Toyota Kenosha Residents Can Expect An American Toyota Plant In The Near Future

The opening of this plant indicates that Toyota is not only moving forward after the recall fiascos with acceleration and braking problems, but that it is committed to bringing its customers in the United States a more affordable product. That product will be top quality too, if the meetings with federal regulators and communications with the headquarters in Japan hold any weight.

But with U.S. auto sales on the rise in general, up 19 percent this May over last year, and even having risen even more sharply for Toyota in recent months, the new plant should have no trouble finding consumers for its product.

Toyota Kenosha dealers have experienced that sales increase and hope it continues. Not only has the Corolla been a best-selling model in the U.S., but the Prius has been in huge demand and the new plug-in Prius will likely have more takers than Toyota can produce initially.

Another positive for Toyota is the fact that customer loyalty from buyers of used cars, Kenosha drivers, and other consumers has not really wavered in spite of the recalled models and a hugely critical media. Toyota also has worked to restore not only its public image, but its communications between executives in the United States and those at the headquarters in Japan.

Toyota is the largest vehicle manufacturer in the world and theres a reason for that. People are buying their vehicles, not just once, but repeatedly. That says something for a company.
