This palace was built by the Portuguese in the year 1557. According to the historical evidences the Palace was offered to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi. This palace was later renovated in the year 1663 by the Dutch. The palace has the display of beautiful Murals which depict the scenes from the world famous epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata and other puranic Hindu legends. One can find the Dutch maps of old Kochi, coronation robes of former Maharajas, royal palanquins as well as the furniture of that period.
Bolghatty Palace
Bolghatty Palace is a picturesque island which is situated near the Ernakulam city, Bolghatty is known for the Bolghatty Palace which was built in 1744 AD by the Dutch. This palace has ones been the residence of the British. This is now a KTDC (Kerala Tourism Development Corporation) hotel.

It is said that the remains of Vasco da Gama was buried here in the year 1524 and later it was moved to Lisbon, Portugal.
